Singer/Songwriter Jessie Simmons (born Alesandría-Jessica Ronica Simon) is a Haitian Canadian from Ottawa, Ontario. At the age of 3 years old, Jessie started to sing at church where she discovered a passion for music. She grew up listening to all kinds of music, looked up to numerous artists, inspiring her to want to become a performer herself. In high school, her music teacher convinced her to audition for the annual musical and from there she joined multiple talent shows, provincial festivals. The experience allowed her to discover herself and expand knowledge through different genres and appreciate versatality. Cultures, Ambition, Passion are what truly inspired her. Jessie always could simply not ignore the passion as the fusion flowed through her veins whenever she would sing. She started writing her own music and working with different artists in Ottawa. In April 2014, Jessie released her debuting single “Fly Away” produced by Tony Drumzz. She is currently working on her EP to be released later on this year. Jessie is currently pursuing her musical dreams and studying Communications and Busines Administration at the University of Ottawa. Jessie loves giving back to the community and hopes to inspire people around the world to also follow their dreams.
