O: I have a few mentors; they know who they are. But to name two ; Nancy and Christian Kondo. I’m really really extremely thankful for having them in my life My mother is my #1 idol. I can never thank her enough for just everything she’s done/continues to do so.

C: What’s your favourite fashion trend at the moment?

Interview with a terrific model: Tima

The well-known singer Miguel released a new video that was published on Aug 24, 2017. In this video, which already reached the million views,  notice the spotted,  upcoming model Tima.

The NP PROD team decided to interview Tima and share with you her thoughts.

CK: Can you tell me more about yourself?

T: My name is Tima. I’m 20 years old and I live in Ottawa. I’ve been modeling about 4 years between Ottawa and Toronto. I’m also in my 3rd year of a bachelor degree in communication and media at Carleton University.

CK: What made you choose this career path?

T: I’ve always been interested since my tender age. I randomly entered a contest and I won my first contract. Since then, I’ve been modeling. I took it more seriously the past year and it’s been very rewarding. It’s a fun and exciting career to have because of the many opportunities it offers.

CK: What’s the best decision you’ve ever made?

T: I would probably say going to this convention called CMTC (Canadian Model and Talent Convention) and it opened up a lot of doors for me. It’s how I signed for Elite Toronto, I’ve got to shoot for companies like Aldo and travel to Milan. It’s very helpful.

CK: What’s your proudest accomplishment so far?

T: Being able to balance my life as a full-time student and my life as a model. I am very proud of myself for being able to control and handle everything.

CK: Who do you want to work with in the Future?

T: I want to work with a Major magazine or companies like Vogue or be a Victoria’s Secret angel.

CK: What is your greatest fear?

T: It’s probably just failing, not being able to accomplish what I wanted to. Not being able to reach my goal.

CK: Do you think it is necessary to separate your personal life from the show-business?

T: I think it is really important to separate the two because who you are at work is not the same as who you are in your personal life. For example, you don’t want to date someone you’re working with because it can affect your relationship at work.

CK: What’s the bravest/craziest thing you’ve ever done?

T: Bravest thing: I packed my stuff and I moved to Toronto for the summer. I wanted to work there. I was by myself working, modeling all summer long.

CK: Do you have a favourite quote or mantra?

T: “Only Allah (God) can judge me”. I like it because when people say things about you, you know that their opinions don’t really matter. At the end of the day, only God can judge me.

CK: Do you have a mentor/idol?

T: My mentors are my agents. They guide me and help me to be a better model. They advise me on travels and things to do. I am definitely inspired by Naomi Campbell. She’s a beautiful dark-skin girl who is able to break out in the fashion industry and make a name for herself.

CK: What’s your favourite beauty routine?

T: I use a lot of natural products. I usually use a face mask from Lush. It helps clear my skin. Natural products are good for you.

CK: If you were to meet your younger self, what would you say to her?

T: I would tell her to always be confident. I would add: ‘’You will turn out just fine. Be strong and be confident.”

CK: What do you like the most about np prod?

T: I like what they stand for. I like how they bring people together through events, photography and music. They are able to create a platform from which the black/African community could enjoy many things.

CK: Any last words/suggestions?

T: Thank you.

Note: I’ve had the honour to speak with Tima  and there’s no doubt about her positive attitude. This beautiful woman will certainly go far in the fashion industry and we wish her to break many more glass ceilings on her path to success.
